What is so specialabout Origami paper and why is it so different to normal? Is it made of squashed Japanese toe-nail clippings? The dried hide from a black-and-white panda? Let’s not forget, most people’s experience of Origami comes either in the toilet or via depressing stories of dead children.
Anyway, this versatile technique can also be used to make some rather tasty earrings. Here the kinda attractive Davi Kallman (‘Intern’) shows us how it’s done. Nice. They look good, and can be used to write down those phone numbers you might pick up.  Nice.

So… We arrive at the real purpose of this site – to catalogue my every increasing obsession with earrings! Here is the first pair, a rather fetching pair of high heels! These silver beauties were given to me by a Barista in the popular Hong Kong coffee chain, Pacific Coffee. It’s not the first time a girl has given me earrings, although probably the first time by a relative stranger. It’s funny, the relationship we have with these sort of people. You know the ones I mean – the waitresses, the attendants, the assistants, the people who make our life easy in so many ways without our even appreciating it.

We see them everyday, we exchange pleasantries, and then we retreat back into our little bubbles with scarcely a second thought to their hopes, dreams or delights.  They cannot be upset or angry or irritated – they must simply present a smiling face and a hot cup of coffee – or whatever our latest comestible desire is. I always try to make their life a little more surreal, a little more special, and I like to think they appreciate the effort! In return, well, I hope they do the same – see more as more than a formless void in the crowd.

For this lady, it really worked. After exchanging pleasantries day in, day out, one day I was met with a cheeky smile and a small package – in which I found these…

You wouldn't want to walk in these

So apparently I look like the kind of guy who likes women’s shoes! I could never wear them myself, but on the ear? Perfect! Thanks miss – keep ‘em coming…

I’m a big fan of the home-made earring – I’ll be sharing some of my creations soon. In the meantime, here’s something I stumbled upon Youtube…

Is it me or is this a real missed opportunity? Bottle caps are bright, colourful and funny (sadly does not contain real duck.)

Why flatten them out and paint over them? It turns them into ugly hub-caps, or contact lenses for the blind, or the wheel of a paper car. Whatever you wanna call it, they look rubbish!!!

Look at how much you can do with a bottle cap!

Bracelets… (awesome!)

Art (cool!)

Even as proper earrings!!! (How much better are these?)

Mmmm...refreshing

So there you have it; a useful how to completely devoid of artistic merit or interest… Just goes to show, the world consists of two types of people; builders and craftsmen.
