This kind of sums up my mood right now. Apologies to whoever drew this I downloaded it ages ago.

Hanging on a thread

Just saw this, had to post it.

A painting entitled Boy with a Pearl Earring.

You work it out!

Stop. Thief!

Now, I’m currently more into cataloging the many wonderful choices of earrings out there, but I want to combine it with a little more insight and analysis. Here’s a wonderfuly detailed article by a woman called Simone about how to wear and chose earrings.

Now, being a boy, perhaps I don’t have quite the same approach. I coordinate based on colour basically, not so much on style. That’s probably also because I only wear drop or stud earrings – no hoops ever please! If I want to make a statement then I deliberatly chose my most ridiculous earring and let it speak for itself.

One thing I’ve really noticed in my time is how much people notice earrings. You tend to think they are pretty anonymous but they have enormous impact and can really catch peoples attention in the most unlikely places. I’ve been stopped in cafes, clubs and cinemas because of my earrings (and for various legal infractions too but I can’t discuss those without a lawyer present.)

Anyway, things I like in this article are the methodology – the systematic approach to choosing the earring, and the neat way the writer stores her earrings.

Moody black and white photography = $$$

This is a homemade storage system of picture frame and mesh. Simple, effective, elegant. Well done earring fan!
